Success among young people in 2011, the Teen Wolf series was a rage. With an engaging plot, where a young man who is bitten by a "wolf" and turns into a werewolf, has to deal with his new condition, while having to live his teenage life normally in the city of Beacon Hills. The production ended in 2017, leaving the scene, worn out and discredited, with a weak plot and lost its main focus. In January of this year, the production won a film adaptation, with a direct connection to the events of the series and it is about this tragedy that we are going to talk now.
Teen Wolf: The Movie premiered directly on Paramount Plus streaming, and featured the return of much of the series' original cast. Enough of further ado and let's get to what we think of the film.
DO YOU REALLY NEED TO GO BACK?

Answering the question above, NO! The production is a mistake from the first act to its conclusion. With a mediocre script and no creativity, the film does not innovate at all. Look for plots that worked in the past to try to create a connection with fans of the series. However, it miserably erred in its conception by delivering a script that could not even be considered for an amateur production.

The actors didn't watch each other before shooting started, as they weren't comfortable and didn't know the tone of their own characters. The film itself sought to create this connection, but even the flashbacks with scenes from the series did not help, they only served to reinforce the discord between one material and another. In dramaturgy we have to allow ourselves to fly, because imagination is the fuel for magic to happen, but there is also the limit of what is acceptable, and the scriptwriters think that their audience accepts anything, it is too daring for my taste.

Teen Wolf Review: Crystal Reed as Allison in a scene from the movie. | Credit: Disclosure.
I am very surprised that Paramount executives agreed to produce this movie bomb. A production cannot stand on its name alone. The feature looks like it was made by a virtual assistant, where they threw in keywords and the artificial intelligence went there and created it.

That said, I open the parenthesis here for the return of Allison (Crystal Reed). It was simply lame, unappealing and far from a memorable comeback. The actress was committed, but did not deliver much in her acting and her plot did not justify her return from the dead.
CAST
Teen Wolf Review: Tyler Posey as Scott in a scene from the film. | Credit: Disclosure.
I can't come here and say that only the bad script was fundamental to the film's disaster. However, you did an excellent job for his fiasco. However, the cast, who should have known what they were doing, had their share of blame.Lydia (Holland Roden), in the series, stole the spotlight, but now it seemed to me that she was just participating out of obligation or lack of money. She entered completely apathetic, dull and with a forgettable participation.
Already eye drops Scott (Tyler Posey), without many changes from what it was in the series. He continued a half-assed Alpha, who is more beaten than beaten.

But, even without being on stage, I can say that if I were, I would steal the spotlight.
All in all, Teen Wolf: The Movie is forgettable and lacking in charisma, which ultimately only served to reaffirm the reason for the series' cancellation.
